WM 2018 – London

Dear WWTF members,
On behalf of the Worldwide Tang Soo Do Family (WWTF) and the European Moo Duk Kwan Tang Soo Do Federation (EMTF) we have great pleasure inviting you to the Invitational WWTF World Championships 2018 Tang Soo Do Championships being held between 4th and 5th August,2018. The event was originally planned for South Africa and following some consultation with KJN Eddie Jacobsen and SBN Greg Hart it was considered that a move of venue will be best for the member’s safety and success of the tournament.
The championships will be hosted by the EMTF under the guidance of KJN Theo P Salm, KJN Charles Ferraro and the tournament director is SBN Ashok Kumar and hosted by SBN Stuart Reason and SBN Kate Malyon. It will be held at the Copper Box Box Arena, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, London, E20 3HB.
This is the first announcement and we are in the process of putting together a full support package and will have this ready for distribution before the end of September,2017. The formal announcement will be made at the EMTF UK Championships, Inverness on 30th September,2017. Website for the event will be launched shortly and full information and progress of the event will be available and updated daily.

Deutschlandpokal 2017

Erfolgreiches Heimspiel für das Kodang Gym Team!

Am 25. Juni fand in der Rundturnhalle Hohenlimburg das Tang Soo Do – Deutschlandpokalturnier 2017  statt. Der gastgebende TMB e.V., begrüßte sämtliche Vereine aus dem europäischen Tang Soo Do Verband.

In fünfzig Kategorien traten Sportler aus Großbritannien, Belgien und die Niederlande in den Disziplinen Sparring, Hyung (Formenlauf) und Waffen-Hyung an.
Eine gelungene Veranstaltung, in der Fairplay und eine familiäre Atmosphäre im Vordergrund standen.

Das heimische Team erzielte zahlreiche Platzierungen. In der Disziplin Teamform gewann den zweiten Platz das Kodang Gym Letmathe und den dritten Platz das Team vom VfL Menden Platte Heide.

Highlight des Turniers ist der Technikerpokal. Der Pokal wird den zwei besten Teilnehmern überreicht. Dieses Jahr ging unter den Jugendlichen die große Trophäe an Marcus Warnaar aus den Niederlanden und unter den Erwachsenen an Sebastian Wolf aus Deutschland.

Große Erfolge für das Kodang Team Letmathe in Brüssel

Die Mitglieder des Kampfsportvereins ‚Kodang Gym‘ aus Letmathe und des VfL Menden Platte Heide nahmen erfolgreich an der 4. ‚Belgium Youth Challenge‘ in Brüssel teil.

Die zweitätige  Veranstaltung fand in den Hallen der ‚International School of Brussels‘ statt und teilte sich in einen Seminar- und einen Turniertag auf.

Instruktoren aus verschiedenen Ländern, wie zum Beispiel den USA, Großbritannien, den Niederlanden und Deutschland hielten Seminare für Jugendliche und Erwachsene ab.  Diese sollten vor allem den Jugendlichen die Gelegenheit geben, neue Techniken zu erlernen und sich in der Ausführung der verschiedenen Techniken zu verbessern. Ein wesentlicher Aspekt war das gemeinsame Training der Mitglieder aus verschiedenen Ländern.

Am darauf folgenden Tag stand der sportliche Wettkampf der Jugendlichen bis 18 Jahre im Mittelpunkt. Sie bewiesen ihr Talent in den einzelnen Kategorien (traditionelle Formen, Langstock-Formen, Kurzstock-Formen, Sparring und Teamform), welche nach Gurt- und Altersklasse unterteilt waren.

Die 16 heimischen Teilnehmer  nahmen insgesamt 39 Medaillen mit nach Hause, wodurch sich zeigte, dass sich das fleißige Training ausgezahlt hatte.

Nach diesem erfolgreichen Start ins Wettkampfjahr 2017 bereiten sich die Sportler nun für die deutsche Meisterschaft im Juni in Hohenlimburg vor.

Jugendturnier Belgien

Am 29. + 30. April 2017 findet in Brüssel/Belgien ein internationales Seminar und Jugendturnier statt. Unser Verein möchte daran teilnehmen und bittet um Eintragung in die ausliegende Liste für Interessierte bis zum 31. März 2017.

Gestartet wird Samstag, den 29. April um 5.30 Uhr ab Letmathe mit den eigenen Pkw’s.

Vereinsmeisterschaft

Nach einer kurzen Winterpause beginnt das Kodang Gym Team wieder motiviert mit dem Training und bereitet sich somit für die kommenden Turniere im Jahr 2017 vor.

Die jährliche  Vereinsmeisterschaft in der traditionellen koreanischen Kampfkunst, die am 12.12.2016  stattfand, war ein schöner Abschluss für das Jahr 2016. Auf der Vereinsmeisterschaft müssen die Wettkampfteilnehmer  in den Kategorien Sparring, Hyung und Waffenhyung zeigen, was sie im Jahr von den Trainern Ralf und Susanne Ubeländer gelernt hatten.  Nach der Preisverleihung wurden die Kinder sogar vom Nikolaus Besuch überrascht.

Johannes Gäbel in der Jugend-Gruppe  und Sebastian Wolf in der Erwachsenen-Gruppe gewannen den Technikerpokal. Wenn ein Wettkämpfer den Technikerpokal dreimal gewinnt, darf sich über ein eigenes Schwert als Dank und Anerkennung für eine hervorragende Leistung freuen.

Nun trainieren die Kodang Mitglieder für die kommenden Meisterschaften in Belgien, Schottland und insbesondere für die deutsche Meisterschaft in Juni.
